A Quick Catch Up...

Hi Guys,

It feels really weird uploading on a Sunday. I'm actually writing this with the intention to put it straight up so I apologise if it's a bit all over the place. I'm going to have taken this down by Saturday: along with some other posts! I am having a bit of a rebrand of my blog and I think the reinvention has been a long time coming.

For that reason, I'm going to be making some of my earlier posts private. The brutality that I'm going to be removing with will be evident, because, if it's not good then it's going! As well as this, you will probably be able to see a change in format in posts from now on. I would like this to develop because I've had my site for almost two years.

In the start, Runnerella suited me and everything I posted was fitting but as I said, it's been a long time! During that time, I've grown and changed as a person so I feel it's necessary that my blog edits along with me. So, as well as having less posts up, I'm renaming my blog. As of Wednesday (bit of a throwback) my blog's new name will be 'Words With El'. I think it sounds so much more conversational and just more corespondent with me.

As well as this, my posts will be more essay based. I've been really enjoying writing things with more meaning so that's what I'm going to be doing. I hope you all enjoy the change and it's something that you want. Remember to find me from Wednesday, search for,

Thank you so much for your continued love and support. It really means the world. I hope you all have a fantastic week.

Thanks for Reading

  1. Can't wait to see what you come up with, El!

A Collection of Failures Through February...

I don't really know if what a clumsy and awkward person I am has been documented enough. Through inference, I feel like it's been made evident. I've mentioned a few of the embarrassing little moments that I've had throughout my monthly's but you are wrong if you think that's it. My life is not just a collection of one off encounters with shame: it's basically a book. A solid 75% of February had been comprised of making a fool of myself, overall. So, here I am, admitting to that fact, and hoping that these stories will make you feel a little bit better about yourself...

The Onion Incident- Okay, I feel like this dramatic title has really pulled you in! Our story begins on a Thursday morning, during half term. I was going to go out to print some photos for my scrap book but my mum asked if I'd go and get her two carrots, an onion and a bag of potatoes. A strangely specific list- I know- but I just accepted it and went off on my journey. I printed my photos…

Why I Hate Rom Coms...

Contrary to what the title would have you believe, romance is my favourite genre of film. I'd say that the first real rom com I watched was 'Pretty Woman' and my obsession had grown since then. However, no matter have much I adore them, I have some issues with the category. Pretty much everyone romance film includes one of these tropes; they wouldn't be a trope if they didn't!

First of all is rain. I have no problem with the weather: light drizzle is actually my favourite weather (I find it really therapeutic to see it bouncing off of an umbrella, okay?!?) but the rain you get in rom coms is next level. It's thunderstorm level of soak, yet nobody seems to have seen the forecast! Surely if that much rain was predicted, one of these people would be wearing a raincoat? It actually doesn't seem to have any kind of effect on the characters, so their lack of preparation isn't an issue. If I'm getting rained on I'm shivery, have stringy curls all over m…
