A Bit of Fiction...

Hi Guys,

I just want to start this post with a big apology. If you have come to read a Zoella Book Club Review, that's not what I'm uploading! I could try making excuses, but the main reason is that I've just been really busy so haven't had time to read them. I'm making my way through 'To Kill a Mocking Bird' so I might post a review of that soon; my next Zoella Review will be in 3 weeks time!

Now that I've got that out of the way, I wasn't really too sure what to post today. My only idea for this week was the review and obviously I'm not uploading that! I've decided to post some of my creative writing. I really love fiction and I've been wanting to post some for a while and I feel like this is the perfect reason to. This is from a while ago and was written from a stimulus (GCSE style!). I think this is the image it was based on, but I could be wrong: it was definitely similar...

Decrepit grime practically oozed from the banister, yet it was not out of place. The dirt did not disrupt the quickly growing mould. Sad, grow, diminishing light crawled it's way through the window pane; painted the room a disgusting shade. Grandeur could have once been a feature, but now, any fanciful images were just a delusion. Long gone were the days of extravagant banquets; lavish furnishings accompanied by beautiful women; glamorous balls with perfect couples.

Now what was left was an ageing room, full of broken furniture and long forgotten memories...

I'm sorry about how short it is. It looked a lot bigger in my handwriting! Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed it. Tell me if you would like to read more stuff like this because fiction posts are something I'd like to do more of. This is my birth month so I'd love if you could follow me on Google + as an early present! Hope you have a phenomenal week!

Thanks for Reading
Runnerella

November's Essay...

I haven't been feeling very well this month. I took my first day of school- in a few years- on Monday because of how bad it was. Physically, I had a cold. No, I'm not one of those people! (Side note...) It always irritates me when people have a bit of a sniffly nose and then take two weeks off from school. There's just no need! My moto is: have a bit of lemsip and get over it. I'll drag myself into school practically unconscious with a bus stuck in my side and still plaster a smile onto my face. This month, however, I finally admitted there was something wrong.

A day was spent under a blanket with Gossip Girl on. In the end I put 'After Laughter' on and woke up two hours later, confused, wondering why the music had stopped. Even though I felt awful the next day (I always get massive colds!), I went back into school. That day at home did me good though because it was nice to spend some time resting and not being stressed. That's something that I don't do …

A Zillenial on the Eighties...

Now, let's throw it back to the glorious year of 2004. Shrek 2 was hitting our screens, Jeremy Clarckson was hitting Piers Morgan in the face and Maria Julia Mantilla was being crowned 'Miss World' over in China. I, a bit closer to home, was enjoying the early years of life. However, across the sea 'Bowling for Soup' were releasing '1985': a bop that I would only come to appreciate about twelve years later. The song contains references to many pop-culture focal points that I have never understood... until now! It's time for me to explore the eighties!

First off is 'Whitesnake'. For the past few years, I've thought that 'Whitesnake' was one person (a rapper or something? I don't know!) but it turns out that they're a band! The were a British hard rock band who rose to fame in the 80s, originally formed in 1977. Another band that I believed to be a single person was 'Blondie'. My friend recently went to see them, althou…
