All I Want For Christmas Is...

Hi Guys,

It's Christmas Eve! December has gone so quickly I feel like it's still only the 10th. But, there's only one day until the day so I thought it was a good time to publish my Christmas wish list. I am going to use the typical disclaimer and say that I don't expect to get all (or any!) of these things but it's just inspiration for things you could ask for too...

1) Carrie Fisher to get better- This is quite a new development for something I would like, but it is quite a big one. If you didn't know, last night Carrie suffered a heart attack and is currently in critical condition. She played Princess Leia- my favourite Disney princess- in the Star wars franchise which is something I love. I hope that whoever was put in charge of celebrity deaths 2016 decides to stop. I was distraught about David Bowie and Alan Rickman but Carrie Fisher! Just stop!

2) A new ukulele- I got my current one for Christmas last year and love playing it soooo much! Singing is a big passion of mine so accompanying it with an instrument just adds another layer. I've asked for a wooden one which I hope I find under the tree tomorrow.

3) Politics to sort itself out!- Politics isn't something that I normally discuss on my blog (tell me if you would like some posts about it in 2017!) but I though I'd add a bit about it now. I am not old enough to vote but if I was I would be voting for Labour. It's a party that I have always supported and I think that they have the best values. A big blow for me was the Conservative Government getting back in. Also, Brexit! I did not want Brexit but the decision was made. Article 50 has not been triggered yet though, so I hope that it won't be! Don't even get me started on the American Election.

4) Write More Fiction- I do a lot of writing because I have this blog; I really want to do more fiction. When I'm older I want to be a journalist because I feel like I could never write a whole book! I've been contemplating uploading some of my fiction work so again, tell me in the comments if you would actually be interested!

That was the shortest list ever! I decided to write a list of less material things. Obviously these are things that Santa might not be able to do but a girl can dream! Please add me to your circles on google + so you can make another one of my Christmas wishes come true! Have a good day and an amazing Christmas!

Thanks for Reading

November's Essay...

I haven't been feeling very well this month. I took my first day of school- in a few years- on Monday because of how bad it was. Physically, I had a cold. No, I'm not one of those people! (Side note...) It always irritates me when people have a bit of a sniffly nose and then take two weeks off from school. There's just no need! My moto is: have a bit of lemsip and get over it. I'll drag myself into school practically unconscious with a bus stuck in my side and still plaster a smile onto my face. This month, however, I finally admitted there was something wrong.

A day was spent under a blanket with Gossip Girl on. In the end I put 'After Laughter' on and woke up two hours later, confused, wondering why the music had stopped. Even though I felt awful the next day (I always get massive colds!), I went back into school. That day at home did me good though because it was nice to spend some time resting and not being stressed. That's something that I don't do …

A Zillenial on the Eighties...

Now, let's throw it back to the glorious year of 2004. Shrek 2 was hitting our screens, Jeremy Clarckson was hitting Piers Morgan in the face and Maria Julia Mantilla was being crowned 'Miss World' over in China. I, a bit closer to home, was enjoying the early years of life. However, across the sea 'Bowling for Soup' were releasing '1985': a bop that I would only come to appreciate about twelve years later. The song contains references to many pop-culture focal points that I have never understood... until now! It's time for me to explore the eighties!

First off is 'Whitesnake'. For the past few years, I've thought that 'Whitesnake' was one person (a rapper or something? I don't know!) but it turns out that they're a band! The were a British hard rock band who rose to fame in the 80s, originally formed in 1977. Another band that I believed to be a single person was 'Blondie'. My friend recently went to see them, althou…
